DIN 976-1B Threaded Rods
Product Information
Product Overview
DIN 976-1B specifies metric threaded rods with Form B ends, identified as CH-type thread ends according to DIN EN ISO 4753. Unlike the RL-type ends used for Form A, the ends of Form B are chamfered to create a defined lead-in. This end geometry makes initial nut engagement easier and is particularly relevant where the rod will be assembled with nuts or threaded components from either end. DIN 976-1B is also associated with UNI 6610 in industry standards references.
The Form B configuration is separate from the choice of material, strength class, coating, diameter, and length. These variables can therefore be specified independently according to the assembly environment. Common supply options include carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, and selected non-ferrous materials, with the applicable mechanical property class determined by the material and specification. DIN 976-1 products are commonly supplied with metric ISO threads to tolerance class 6g.
Surface treatment can be selected according to corrosion exposure and assembly requirements. Typical options include zinc plating for general corrosion protection, hot-dip galvanizing for heavier outdoor exposure, black oxide for applications where a dark finish and dimensional control are preferred, zinc-flake coatings such as Dacromet or Geomet for enhanced corrosion resistance, and PTFE-based coatings where low friction or chemical resistance is required. Customization can also cover material, property class, diameter, thread pitch, overall length, coating system, and other dimensional requirements.
