Product Overview

DIN 3570 defines U-bolts used for clamping steel pipes to brackets, beams, walls, and other support structures. In many procurement and engineering documents, .these fasteners are referred to as bent bolts, U bolts, etc.

The standard covers two main configurations: Form A, with symmetrical arms and both ends threaded, and Form B, with one longer threaded arm and one shorter unthreaded arm that forms a hook. Form A is the default choice for general pipe mounting, while Form B is used where access is restricted and the bolt must be inserted from one side.

Unlike generic U-bolts produced to customer drawings, DIN 3570 U-bolts follow a defined set of dimensions, thread lengths, and bending radii linked to nominal pipe diameters. This standardization reduces drawing review time and ensures interchangeability across suppliers.

The product is commonly specified in plumbing, HVAC, fire protection, marine, and industrial piping installations, where pipes must be fixed securely to steel structures or concrete anchors.

Buyers select DIN 3570 U-bolts based on the pipe outside diameter, thread size, material, and corrosion protection requirements. Carbon steel versions with zinc plating or hot dip galvanizing are typical for indoor and general outdoor use. Stainless steel versions are chosen for corrosive environments, food processing, and marine applications.

The thread geometry follows standard metric coarse pitch, matching common hex nuts and pipe clamps.
