DIN 934 Hexagon Nuts
Product Information
Product Overview
DIN 934 Hexagon Nuts are standard six-sided metric nuts used with bolts, screws, and threaded studs to form removable bolted joints. They are commonly known as hex nuts, hexagon nuts, or full hex nuts. The hexagonal external profile allows tightening and removal with standard spanners or sockets, while the internal metric thread provides compatibility with corresponding metric fasteners.
DIN 934 covers the traditional hexagon nut form with metric coarse and fine pitch threads. The original DIN standard has been withdrawn and its dimensional requirements have been superseded by related ISO standards, including ISO 4032 for regular nuts with coarse pitch threads and ISO 8673 for regular nuts with fine pitch threads. DIN 934 remains widely encountered in product catalogs, drawings, purchasing specifications, and established industrial supply chains.
These nuts are used across machinery, industrial equipment, metal structures, fabrication, maintenance, automotive components, electrical equipment, enclosures, and general mechanical assemblies. Their standard hexagonal shape makes them suitable for applications requiring conventional tool access and straightforward replacement.
For procurement, the thread diameter, pitch, material, property class, and surface finish should be specified together with the required standard. This helps distinguish conventional DIN 934 requirements from their current ISO equivalents and from other hex nut designs.
