DIN 6921 Hexagon Flange Bolts
Product Information
Product Overview
DIN 6921 Hexagon Flange Bolts are metric hexagon head bolts with an integral flange beneath the head. The flange creates a larger bearing surface than a conventional hexagon bolt, allowing the clamping load to be distributed over a wider area without requiring a separate washer.
They are commonly referred to as hex flange bolts, flange bolts, flanged hex bolts, or hexagon bolts with flange.
DIN 6921 is a withdrawn German standard and was replaced by DIN EN 1665, which covers hexagon bolts with flange in the heavy series. DIN 6921 remains a widely recognized designation in industrial purchasing, technical drawings, catalogs, and supplier inquiries.
The integrated flange makes this bolt type useful for machinery, automotive components, equipment assemblies, sheet-metal structures, and general industrial fastening.
It can simplify assembly by combining the bolt and bearing function of a washer into one fastener, particularly where installation efficiency and consistent bearing contact are important.
DIN 6921 flange bolts are commonly sourced in carbon and alloy steel with property classes such as 8.8, 10.9, and 12.9, while stainless steel versions such as A2-70 are also available in the market.
Common metric sizes range from M5 to M20, with standard and selected fine-pitch configurations available depending on the specification.
