Cut Anchors
Product Information
Product Overview
Cut Anchors are internally threaded mechanical expansion anchors used to create a permanent threaded fixing point in solid concrete and other suitable masonry substrates. It consists of a cylindrical anchor body with internal threads and an expansion plug. During installation, a suitable setting tool is used to drive the expansion mechanism, causing the anchor body to expand against the wall of the pre-drilled hole. The internal thread remains available for installing a bolt, threaded stud, or hook bolt. This construction allows the finished fixing to remain substantially flush with the substrate rather than leaving a conventional projecting anchor body.
The product is commonly identified in the fastener market as a Cut Anchor, while terms such as internally threaded expansion anchor and concrete strike anchor may also appear in technical and commercial descriptions. The terminology is not completely standardized between markets, and Cut Anchor is sometimes grouped with drop-in anchors because both provide an internal threaded fixing point. However, their expansion mechanisms and product constructions are not necessarily identical, so they should be treated as separate anchor types when specifying or purchasing them.
Cut Anchors are used for applications where a threaded fixing point is required in concrete or masonry without relying on a through-bolt. Typical applications include pipe and conduit supports, suspended installations, brackets, railings, equipment supports, shelving, electrical and mechanical installations, and other construction fixing work. The anchor can accommodate different threaded components after installation, giving contractors and installers flexibility when selecting the final fastening arrangement.
