Rubber Lined Pipe Hanger Clamps
Product Information
Product Overview
Rubber lined pipe hanger clamps, also called cushioned pipe hangers or rubber-lined pipe support clamps, secure pipes within a suspended support system while cushioning the contact between the pipe and its metal housing. The clamp typically features a formed steel body, an internal rubber lining, and a threaded connection for attachment to a suspension rod or mounting system.
The rubber insert helps reduce vibration transmission and operating noise while protecting the pipe surface against abrasion caused by direct metal-to-metal contact. It can also help limit galvanic contact between dissimilar metals, depending on the pipe material and installation conditions.
These clamps are commonly used in HVAC installations, plumbing networks, heating systems, water supply lines, and compressed-air pipework. Compared with an unlined pipe hanger clamp, the rubber-lined version adds a cushioning interface that is particularly useful where noise control and pipe surface protection matter. It differs from a riser clamp, which is designed to support vertical pipe loads, and from a rubber-lined P-clamp, which generally uses a band-style mounting arrangement for securing pipes, hoses, or cables.
Selection depends on the pipe’s actual outside diameter, the clamp’s dimensional range, the threaded connection required by the suspension system, and the load rating specified for the particular design. The rubber lining must also be compatible with the operating temperature and the surrounding environment.
