Drop In Anchors
Product Information
Product Overview
Drop-in anchors are internally threaded mechanical expansion anchors used to create a flush female thread in concrete and other compatible base materials. They consist of a cylindrical anchor body with internal threads and an internal expander plug. After the anchor is inserted into a correctly drilled hole, a dedicated setting tool expands the anchor against the sides of the hole. The installed anchor remains flush with the surface and accepts a threaded rod, bolt, or other threaded component.
The common market name is Drop-In Anchor, while Internally Threaded Expansion Anchor, Flush Anchor, and Drop-In Expansion Anchor are also used to describe the same general product family. Unlike sleeve or wedge anchors that normally provide an external threaded stud, a drop-in anchor leaves an internal female thread after installation. This makes it particularly useful where the fixture or threaded rod needs to be installed after the anchor has been set.
Drop-in anchors are commonly used for suspended ceilings, pipe and conduit supports, HVAC systems, electrical installations, sprinkler and fire-protection support systems, mechanical equipment, and other construction or MEP applications. Metric and imperial thread configurations are both available in the market, with common sizes including M6 to M20 and 1/4 inch to 3/4 inch, depending on the product range.
For B2B purchasing, selection normally depends on thread size, anchor length, base material, required embedment, installation method, corrosion requirements, and project specifications. Carbon steel zinc-plated versions are common for general indoor applications, while stainless steel versions are available where higher corrosion resistance is required.
